how does animas WATER company address new development requests?
Any time a developer expresses interest in developing new projects in the Animas Water Company service area, they must submit a new development / mainline extension application. Along with this application, the developer must provide Animas Water Company with an aerial map of the project, a description of the project preliminary engineered specifications, an application fee, and a deposit to be applied towards engineering review, attorney’s fees, and employee costs. Once received, the application and supporting document are reviewed with AWC’s company engineer and the current capacity report is referenced. This is to ensure that, upon approval of a new development, the existing water supply and water users are protected to years to come.
